How To Celebrate Your Success, As You Are En-Route To Your Goal
Are you celebrating every step along the way to your goal or are you waiting until you actually get the goal to celebrate?
Acknowledging that you take even one step, is core to being OK with your rate of movement - especially, when your rate of movement isn’t what you think it should be.
The journey to get to your goals has many steps forward and some steps that you think aren’t moving you forward, but actually are helping you make progress.
Failures are part of the process to get to your goals. If you didn’t fail, you wouldn’t be trying. If it were all super easy, there’s no motivation to really go for it! The failures and struggles are there for you to learn and grow. Each struggle makes you stronger and more resilient.
By acknowledging your tiny steps and your big ones, you are building the skill to create a mindset where you keep going and don’t give up on yourself! Every step is part of your masterpiece!
I used to wait until I got the “big ticket” item, before I celebrated. The problem with that was by the time I got to my huge win, I was exhausted and it didn’t seem gratifying enough! I didn’t appreciate myself and my effort along the way. Top salesperson out of 52 franchises, largest sales in my city, trips to the Carribean, all seemed “just ok”. I didn’t know how to appreciate myself!
The journey for me has been learning how to receive all that I do, instead of constantly telling myself that what I do isn’t good enough! When I learned to celebrate the small steps, I became much more satisfied and enjoyed the journey more!
As well as acknowledging your success steps, also acknowledge that you haven’t gotten to your goal and that you are still working on it, so that you keep yourself moving forward and motivated! My teachers gave this gem to me, both the celebrating my success and how to stay on track. I am sharing it with you, because it is a high level skill to receive your successes! It’s changed my life and my outlook on life, to view what you’re “doing well” as a key part of happiness!
To make your journey more satisfying and enjoyable, do this practice:
1.Write in a journal or share with an accountability partner, 3 things you are doing well, daily
2.Take a minute and really feel your success in your body, even if it is a super small success
3.Appreciate your efforts and be consistent with this practice
You will be teaching your body & mind to appreciate more and have more love of life, to enjoy!
How are you doing with acknowledging yourself?
